The Apple executives who will run the computer firm as Steve Jobs steps down as CEO

 Apple's chief operating officer, Tim Cook (left), was quickly named CEO of Apple, the company 

Steve Jobs co-founded in his garage 35 years ago. Steve Jobs said in his resignation letter: "As 

far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name 

Tim Cook as CEO of Apple. I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. 

And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
